Although Chaka Khan is primarily known as a songwriter and vocalist, the “Queen of Funk” also played bass and drums with her early band Jazz-Funk, Rufus.
It’s uncertain if Chaka Khan recorded some percussion with the band at the time, but she certainly grabbed the drum-kit on tour and in some of the band’s television appearances.
