Malaria! was an Experimental Post-Punk supergroup from West Berlin, formed in 1981 by Gudrun Gut (Einsteurzende Neubauten, Mania D) and Bettina Köster (Mania D), (Liaisons Dangereuses, Mania D) and Eva Gößling (Die Krupps).
Their music blended Electronic with No Wave deconstructions, filled with political lyrics and saxophone screams, and they’ve toured with acts like Nina Hagen, The Birthday Party or John Cale.
In the shirt is Susanne Kuhnke, the band’s synthesist and past member of Die Haut, who later join the band along Manon Duursma (Ohne Unter Titel) and Christine Hahn (The Static / Glenn Branca).
“Your Turn To Run” was recorded in New York’s Sorcerer Sound (Christiane F., Martin Rev, Liquid Liquid, Laurie Anderson, Konk, Lydia Lunch) and became the band’s second single.
